HUDA BEAUTY IS IT WORTH THE HYPE?

The honest answer to this question is YES!

I've already got quite a few products from Huda beauty including a highlighting palette, both large eyeshadow palettes and some lashes. All of which I would recommend to anyone. They are beautiful and definitely worth every penny! So when she released the foundation range and I read about all the hype I couldn't wait to try it.

In the UK it's only available online or in Selfridges and Harrods. I would recommend going to one of these stores to get a correct colour matching done as I wasn't the colour I thought I was and the girls on the counter were extremely helpful. I ended up purchasing the matte foundation in the colour "shortbread" along with the primer which I knew was designed to go with the foundation. I didn't however buy the brush for the foundation as I have several brushes similar to it and tend to prefer to apply my foundation with a beauty blender.

The foundation and primer did not disappoint, it's packaging was what I expected, sleek and clean like all of Huda's range. I applied the foundation originally using a flat, densely packed kabuki style brush but I did not like the look it left on my skin. I then tried using my beauty blender which gave me a much more flawless and airbrushed finish. The reviews are right a little does go a very long way so don't go crazy when applying this. A lot of people talk about the scent of the foundation, this was enjoyable and didn't bother me in the slightest. The primer left my skin feeling soft but not tacky and aided in blurring out my large pores over my nose and cheeks. Now although the coverage was very full it did not cover all of my blemishes, I therefore used some Revolution makeup concealer under my eyes and to highlight my nose and forehead. The two products sat on top of each other very nicely.

The foundation dried down matte without being dry, does that even make sense? I honestly was astounded by the finish and had never had skin that looked so flawless whilst wearing a foundation. I used some air spun to set the areas where I had applied the concealer and the rest of the face was good to go. A bit of bronzer here and there and of course the Huda highlighting palette, which may I add are AMAZING.

My face stayed pretty much perfect for a good 9 hours, which is unheard of with my greasy skin! There was a slight separation around my nose area but I can't be mad at that. My skin is greasy enough to fry something on!

I finished the rest of my face using the desert sands palette on my eyes, a nice winged liner, the Huda Samanatha lashes (If you have never used Huda lashes I advise you go online now and buy some), the benefit goof proof brow pencil and a good old Revolution Pro liquid lipstick (again, AMAZING!).

I will definitely be expanding my Huda beauty collection, I've yet to try her lipsticks and will definitely be buying the other highlighting palettes. I'm excited to see what she comes up with next! :)
